New Start - Announcement of sorts

Okay...so this has been dormant for a while. I do apologize.

I have an announcement to make:

I have decided to discontinue designing actively in the cross stitch world. My "day job" has been a little too consuming and well, the market is very different than it was when I started my endeavor. I thank everyone for their support of my love of colour, thread, and cross stitch! At the end of the month, Norden Crafts will cease to carry my patterns. Hoffman still has a few, but has discontinued my punch needle patterns. In the next few months, I will continue to donate items to dissolve the remainder of my inventory. If you have a question about what I have, please email me.

Going forward, I will be dedicating this blog to my creations...and occasionally offer an on-line downloadable pattern. :) Hint: there are 2 Christmas Cross Stitch Stockings coming soon.

Have a wonderful week!
Paula :)

Christmas is Coming...

Hi...
It seems that the holiday season is approaching... I'm looking forward to decorating and making a few things. Amazing how a year can pass so quickly... I was looking back at all my cross stitch Santas that I display year around. Some where made almost 10 years ago now at a Stitch Away in Oklahoma. I learned about different fibers and stitching beyond the "cross" stitch. It was when my love for sewing started to grow...
Have a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. I am thankful for the influences of so many friends along the way.

Long time no blog...

Okay...I am here...really...

Here is my son sporting his "braces free" teeth! Love that! (so does he)
I did take time out in November to attend a wedding... Best wishes for a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Speaking of New Year...I do have some information...as you may have noticed or not I have not been doing as much with my business, BIZZI Creations, Inc. After MUCH thought, prayer, and deliberation, I have decided it is best to scale it back. I will still be doing designs from time to time, but I will not be hosting my own booth at trade shows. I love to create and that is not changing... I do have to adjust to the current economic environment. I will still have my "free bee" designs available from time to time...and by request.

Many Blessings,
Paula

Sneak Peek & crash & Burn...

Here it is...the companion piece to "My Chair" called..."My Desk". Isn't she lovely? Cathy did a lovely job stitching her and Stitch Niche in Arlington did a lovely job stretching and framing her. Nice when it all comes together. This is going out to the distributors as I write and also to some shops... If you are interested in this pattern, contact your local Needlework Shop! It is stitched on Picture This Plus cashel chime fabric with DMC floss.

And now to the crash & burn...remember yesterday how I mentioned that we got rain? Well, that is great except when you ride a road bike (bicycle) and you get ran off the road...the mud just grabs your tire and you -well stick, stop, fall...and with clips you are pretty much just riding it down. As fun as that may sound, it can and usually does hurt. It usually happens where there are lots of witnesses. So, my baby was hurt (my bike)...see picture. Lucky for me the only thing that hit the concrete was the corner of my handlebar...now off to get new grips. A little bit of mud, which did not allow for me to insert right foot into right clip the rest of the way... But the bright side is that other than a couple of well placed bruises (no picture or further comment here) I'm fine. Okay, the pride was wounded a little too...but got lots of sympathy from the troops. They are a great group to ride with and yes I just kept smiling. It was a beautiful night and enjoyed it despite the mud and the over agressive rider. I forgave him...

Well, I will leave you with this...Mr. Gray and his comments on the above incident. :)

Happy Stitching!

Beauty and the Earth

Oh Valentines Day...what fun to watch... It was a crazy time, as I had just returned from Nashville...which was a blast! I had fun with Megan from Needlework Retailer. She does an amazing job with the magazine and is fun to be around! We also joined up with Kathi from Wichelt Imports. Kathi is the marketing director and all around great gal. We managed to slip away a couple of evenings and laugh and talk and laugh some more. Isn't that what we all need every now and again! Thank you so much for that much needed chuckle!

Back to Valentines, the flowers were a special gift, to me...as an inspiration for a new piece that I am designing that will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. My friend, Karen, co-pilot or should I say driver to Nashville, besides being an awesome person is a cancer SURVIVOR! Wahoo!! Plus, there is a wonderful friend Becca that frequents Stitch Niche that is a fantabulous person and cancer SURVIVOR and stitcher, too! How awesome is that??!! So, with their input I am placing a wonderful flower on a design with a little praise for those incredible people that I happen to share a little space with in time. I hope to have the design done soon so I can post. I will be making kits and have them ready sometime shortly thereafter... Back to the flowers, the lovely lady at Bailey's Flowers did this incredible arrangement! She did a great job! Hopefully there will be a new painting in the works to mirror this wonderful creation.

This last picture was of the moon eclipse the other night. Between clouds, I was able to see the earth's shadow cover the surface of the moon. It is just so amazing to me and it seems that I do not have the opportunity to see this every time so...I had to take it in with my cats out on the porch. What a beautiful night, perfect temperature with a slight breeze - ahhhhhh.

Well...........off to sleep actually...have a wonderful weekend! ~Paula

To Market, to market...home again

Hello...well, here is a little taste of the fun I had at market. I added my little bee (okay not so little) to my door for a little marketing. I think it was noticable...from well across the atrium. :) It was fun... Not bad for some wrapping paper, scissors, razor blade and some tape! (Okay, okay a chair to stand on, too. I am a "little" horizontally challenged.)

Well, I did not get to tell you but now I can... I painted the cover for the 15th anniversary cover of the NMI market Show guide! I will share that with you soon. You can request a print of it or the cookbook cover by emailing me. :)

We had a great time. The weather was wonderful and the drive went smooth.

I have so much more to share so keep checking back!
Many blessings, Paula :)

A little Tease

I know it isn't fair...but I just cannot keep it to myself much longer! I know it is only a few more days to market...my house could tell you that if it spoke. My help is sleeping on the job. See exhibit A.

This is Knickers...and I have just asked too much from her I guess. She is staying near me so at least my activities have not kept her from her beauty sleep. A cat must have its sleep!

Okay, okay, the tease...what has colour (you know me by now), wires, and hangs...well here is a little picture of one of my latest designs being released at market this weekend... Ta Da!!!!

I hope that will keep you for a day or so... Happy stitching, knitting, sewing, painting, crafting, for it is so wonderful to create!

Miss Crystal's special outfit and My Real Chair with my real cat

Here is the fun outfit. There are a lot of details, which I will show in some close up pictures. The top features lime green piping above the wavey striped ruffle. The neck and arm openings are encased with bright yellow biased tape, resembling more piping.

The pants feature multicolored rick rack! It is suttle on this outfit, but by itself it is amazingly bright!

Miss Crystal loves pink...I hope she has much fun her new summer outfit! In the mail tomorrow and on their way to giving a few smiles to the new owner!
My Knickers perched up top on "my chair". The inspiration for the cross stitch piece shown.
Hope you enjoyed some pictures...some new cross stitch release coming soon...Paula

My Chair

This is the first of three cross stitch designs from "My Place" painting. Each has a cat and lots of little details like a needle in the arm chair and heart shaped rug. All will have the fun green border.
The cat featured in this one, is my own "Knickers". She is forever near me while I stitch. She carefully watches me.
I'm sure each of you have animals that do the same. Share your stories! I would love to hear them.
Happy Stitching!

Life...Live it! Love it!

This is what I love about what I do...I am blessed to have stitchers like Erin! She took my "Let Your Spirit Soar" and stitched it up on Silkweavers Dream fabric and gave it to her friend that had lost everything in a fire and needed a new lease on life. I hope that this small gesture blessed their life as much as it does mine. I feel privledged to have been a part of this...in a small way. I hope my designs continue to bring about blessings to those that stitch and those that don't...

Life...Live it! Love it!
Thanks Erin for passing this on!
Paula :-)
