Long time no blog...

Okay...I am here...really...

Here is my son sporting his "braces free" teeth! Love that! (so does he)
I did take time out in November to attend a wedding... Best wishes for a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Speaking of New Year...I do have some information...as you may have noticed or not I have not been doing as much with my business, BIZZI Creations, Inc. After MUCH thought, prayer, and deliberation, I have decided it is best to scale it back. I will still be doing designs from time to time, but I will not be hosting my own booth at trade shows. I love to create and that is not changing... I do have to adjust to the current economic environment. I will still have my "free bee" designs available from time to time...and by request.

Many Blessings,
Paula

Painting, Sewing, a regular Santa's workshop

We had quite a little cold snap just last week. It was just what I needed to put me into the Holiday spirit!

New Trios for 2007! This is BIZZI's first monthly series! Each month there will be a design featuring a new letter of the alphabet. January is featuring "L" for Laugh, Love, Live. The design is stitched with three colors of Needlepoint Ink Silk. Each month there will be a coordinating fun finishing idea from Trail Creek Farm. So - these will start to ship soon...

The "Bistro" painting was my first experiment painting watercolor on the new watercolour canvas. I like this part of the painting (other half not shown). But close up shows all the little textures of the canvas and I'm not sure I like it.

Well, working on Christmas Cards and have several done, but a few to finish up... then punching models for my "Cat on a Stick" class for San Diego. I will also be teaching the same class at Nashville in February!

Back to it!

Here is "Pears in Colour"...my latest painting. The finished size is approximately 9"x11". It is deep in colour (depth) as I did a lot of colour glazes to get the pears to have a glow. I hope you enjoy. The painting is available for sale - $200. and notecards are available for $15/package. Contact us at bizzicreations@att.net. Enjoy!

A side note, we finally got some much needed rain. How wonderful! ~Paula

Texas Etiquette

It has been a while...time to get you up to date. First, currently at the OMOT (On My Own Time) Exhibit at Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas, is "Texas Etiquette", a watercolour painting about a Texas Longhorn that eats quite literally with etiquette. Okay so she is a bit colourful...but that is the fun of the piece. The reception is the 17th at which time the winning pieces will advance to the City level at Northpark Mall.

Currently, the cross stitch trunk show is in Harlegin, Texas! If you are interested in having our trunk show at your shop in 2007 sign up now, as space is starting to fill!

Next year we will be at TNNA San Diego in January and at NMI Nashville Cash & Carry in February. Hope to see you then!

Have a wonderful day stitching, painting or just reading!

Stitch-A-Licious Painting

I had the honor of painting the cover to the new Stitch-A-Licious Volume II cookbook published by Needlework Markets available through fine needlework stores. It is a collection of recipes from designers like myself (and I do have one in there!)

The original painting is approximately 9x13 framed in a unique brushed black frame with acid free double white mats under conservation glass. Painting is for sale. Contact me by email if you are interested.

Prints are on 11x14 sheets - signatures available for $25/each. Available while supply lasts! (Available wholesale as well.) Contact me by email if you are interested.

It is also available on Needlepoint Canvas 13 Mesh through Rishfeld Designs.

Have a wonderful day!!!

When I think of you...

This was a fun piece - watercolour garden with a nice copper gate. Look carefully and you will find a little rabbit in the grass. This fun whimsical piece delighted its new owner. It will soon evolve into a new cross stitch piece...watch for it at Nashville.

Experimenting with watercolour pens

This has been fun. I have done some new drawings utilizing watercolour pens. They do blend and I find it is so similar in application, that if you do not want something to bleed into something else to wait until the area is dried before applying. As with regular watercolour, you must, I repeat MUST save your whites (paper). You also must start with the light colours and work towards dark- what I call giving depth to the painting.

Start with something small. Draw a simple picture and experiment. Do not skimp on paper quality. I find that the heavier paper allows for a more colourful and detailed painting.

Enjoy!
Happy Creating!
Paula :-)
